A petition

I humbly bow
My bosom on the ground
And I cry out loud
hoping you’d hear me out
How long is long?
How short is short?
I’m a mere pilgrim
passing by on earth
For I know my treasure
is in heaven above
This day I pledge my life to You
to control me
to watch over me
to teach me
to correct
to lead me
to direct me
through this wild journey

Renew my spirit
Rekindle my first love
Change my heart
Tear down my pride
Season my lips and
season my deeds
Give me a pure heart
to love Your creation
both man and beast...
Mould me according to Your will

I lay my plans before You
For You are Able
And Your plans are good
I place my trust in You
and You alone, Lord
For… with God all things are possible
